Give Me Jesus

After some thought, I have decided that it is time for an update with my little blog.

When I created my blog, I had an idea of where I wanted it to go. However, life went on and my ideas of what my blog should be expanded. I had high hopes of creating a space where lots of girls would come to find inspiration in the beauty and style world. Boy, was I on the wrong track. 

I thought I had convinced myself that my blog was going to be more successful than I wished. I wanted to achieve a beautiful, creative, and inspiring space like the ones you find as you scroll through Instagram. I had a vision in my head of where my blog might possibly take me. 

But it was just that.. A vision. 

And now? I've somehow come back into my little space where I journal the things I love. Believe me, I lovveeee beauty. I could talk beauty products all day long, every single day. But you already knew that. However. there is something that I love more than beauty products and beauty in general. Not just something.. a Someone. 

Jesus. 

I have a burning passion for Christ and I believe it is about time that I let him into my little space.

This life that I live is not my own. So, why do I choose to make it my own? I'm reminded daily of Hannah's (1 Samuel 1:1-2:2) dedication to the Lord. I've asked myself what is stopping me from being more like Hannah? Easy. It is me. 

So, the choice is mine to make. Do I create a little space for myself to express things I love and leave out my faith? Or do I bring in my loving King and allow Him to surround my all? Will I lose followers? Maybe. Will people pass by my blog? Quite likely. And that is okay.
I no longer want to hide Him away. I want Him in my whole life. Even here in my little journal.

FAVORITE BEAUTY PRODUCTS OF 2016

I'm back! And since it is September, I thought I might share my favorite beauty products that I have been using this year. (I'll do a bigger post in December to give you my thoughts of the best products from the year. We can't forget fall's products!) 

First, I thought I should share my favorite "basic" items. These items are perfect for a quick and easy look for the day. Three of these are pretty easy to understand as to why I would choose them: CC Cream, concealer, and dry shampoo. The NARS eyeshadow (also shown in the picture below) is easy to apply and lasts for hours. It can also be used as a blush, so that's a double win! Clinique's Acne Solution Clarifying Lotion prepares the face for whatever products you will apply and lessens the look of breakouts on the face. 

My favorite products from this spring and summer were hands down the NARS concealer and the Tarte Rainforest of the Sea liquid foundation. I used the Tarte foundation sparingly because I wanted it to last me until the beginning of fall, and it is still going! My go-to palette is Tarte's Tartelette in Bloom. The colors will be perfect for fall and winter as well. My go-to lipstick is by the brand, Burt's Bees, in the color Fuchsia Flood. It is the perfect shade of purple. I will have a post coming soon about the Burt's Bees lipsticks! Stay tuned. ;)

Now, onto hair products! If you've followed along on my Instagram, or just know me personally, you know how much I LOVE dry shampoo. Mainly because I cannot stand my hair if it is flat and dry shampoo is the way that works best for me for adding tons of volume. Kevin Murphy's DOO OVER is wonderful! I love the smell more than any other dry shampoo or hairspray that I have ever used. It also works as a texture spray and finishing spray, which is just more bang for your buck!

My love for Moroccan Oil will never cease, so this will not be my last post regarding it. ;)

The KMS Anti-Humidity shield is one of my all time favorite products! (Again, thank you Kate for the recommendation!) I will continue to repurchase this, especially since I live in Oklahoma!

I realize that I just gave you all a lot of information, but because it has been a hot minute since I have shared any of my loves with you, I thought I should introduce my loves to you and I will break them down throughout my upcoming posts! I can't wait to share more amazing products as the season goes on!
